Be a Wayzata Community Delegate!

Wayzata Girl Scouts is looking for Girl Scouts ages 14 and up or registered adult volunteers who would like to represent our community as delegates to Girl Scouts River Valleys at their annual meeting. We have spots open for 4 delegates and 4 alternates.

Details

Delegates have a big job—representing the entire community! Delegates serve as voting members of our council providing input to our Board of Directors and attend Girl Scouts River Valleys' virtual annual meeting on Saturday, February 8th 2025. Delegates serve a 1 year term and are expected to report back to the Wayzata Girl Scouts Leadership team after the meeting. Once elected, delegates and alternates must fill out a form with GSRV. Do not fill out the form prior to being elected into a delegate or alternate position. More information can be found here.

Why be a delegate? 
  • Resume builder for career or college - skills in public speaking, governance, and more

  • Delegate education - training on parliamentary procedures, connection with peers on the special delegate website and more

  • Discounts on advocacy programs like the upcoming Bill of Rights Day and Day at the Capitol

Who makes a good delegate?
 
  • Must be 14 years old on or after October 1st

  • Must be a current 2025 or Lifetime Member of Girl Scouts

  • Have ideas to share on how Girl Scouts River Valleys would be more effective in serving girls and volunteers

  • Want to ensure Girl Scouts River Valleys is serving and being a voice for all the girls and volunteers in our communities

  • Have an interest in engaging in the strategic, long-term goals of Girl Scouts River Valleys on a governance level

  • Support decisions made at member meetings and report information back to the community constructively and positively

  • Speak and act in a manner consistent with the Girl Scout mission, Promise, and Law

  • Respect the democratic process
