Western
Skies
An annual fall camping event,
Western
Skies Encampment will be held at Camp Greenwood on the
weekend of September 25-27,
2009 and is for troops entering 5th through 12th grade in the
fall of 2009 and that live in the western part of the council.
Western Skies is an exciting
weekend in the out-of-doors that promotes camping skills, diverse Girl
Scout programming and sharing with other troops. Troops may stay in
cabins or tent camping. Proper training is required.
The program is
planned and presented to the girls by volunteer adults, with Cadette
and Senior Girl Scouts helping. Western Skies Encampment is a great way
for troops to connect with troops outside of their own area, since it
includes most of the west. Many troops have found it to be a wonderful
older girl retention tool.
Check out the Western Skies Flyer and Registration Form
